The Situation of Afghan Women and the Need for International Support

Afghan women are a vital and influential part of society, playing essential roles in nurturing families, preserving cultural values, and contributing to community development. However, in recent years, changes in the social and economic environment, along with certain restrictions, have created serious challenges for women in accessing education, healthcare, employment, and participating in social life.

Limited opportunities, increasing economic hardship, and restrictions on women's activities have made it difficult for many women to fully use their potential and talents. These challenges not only impact the lives of women but also affect the overall progress and stability of Afghan society.

In this context, the role and support of the international community—especially the United Nations and organizations such as UN Women—are critical. These institutions can help improve the lives of Afghan women through support in education, economic empowerment, awareness-raising, psychosocial services, and protection of their fundamental rights.

We believe that with global solidarity and meaningful cooperation, it is possible to create a safer and more hopeful environment for Afghan women—one in which they can live with dignity, confidence, and security, and actively contribute to the development and well-being of their communities.

We respectfully call on the United Nations, international organizations, and human rights defenders to continue their support for Afghan women and help create equal opportunities, empower them, and ensure the protection of their rights and dignity.
