Key Achievements (First 3.5 Months - Group 1)

  1. Training & Production:

ü  The first training cycle was completed, benefiting 27 women who successfully learned carpet weaving skills.

ü  Each team (three women per group) completed weaving and selling their first carpets.

ü  Beneficiaries transitioned to working from home, purchasing raw materials with their earnings.

  1. Workstations & Equipment:

ü  9 carpet weaving looms have been fully set up.

ü  All required raw materials, including threads, dyes, and tools, have been provided.

  1. Capacity Building:

ü  Additional training sessions were conducted on health & hygiene, small business management, women’s rights, human rights, and family well-being.

ü  Training materials, including books and manuals, were distributed to all participants.

  1. Market Linkages & Sustainability:

ü  Women established direct connections with carpet buyers and raw material suppliers.

ü  Income generated allowed them to continue production independently.

  1. Community & Institutional Engagement:

ü  Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

ü  Community donations provided meals to enhance participation and motivation.

  1. Expansion & Next Steps:

ü  The second training group of 27 new beneficiaries has been identified.

ü  Training facilities were prepared with new carpet looms and materials, set to begin in the following week.

Impact & Change

  • The most significant outcome is the financial independence of women, who now work for themselves rather than relying on employers.
  • Increased household income has improved family well-being and reduced economic vulnerability.
