The second group of carpet weaving beneficiaries, with success and perseverance, have restarted their home-based work according to their commitments. In this phase, there are nine groups, each consisting of three members (a total of 27 individuals), who are actively working in District 13 of Kabul, Dasht-e-Barchi. These individuals, who come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, expressed happiness at the opportunity to work again and are currently busy weaving carpets at home.
Ms. Kimia, one of the beneficiaries living in Etifaq Township, shared her experience, saying:
"I am very happy to own a carpet weaving machine. The National Organization for Protection and Survival provided me with the initial materials. After selling my previous carpet, I bought new materials with the money and used the profit to support household expenses. In a time when most women are jobless and confined to their homes, I am grateful to be working. I hope similar opportunities will be created for other women so they too can have jobs and small businesses."
Ms. Kimia is one of 27 beneficiaries who are currently engaged in carpet weaving at home. Other members of the group include young women who have been unable to continue their education at schools or universities and are now working diligently in this production activity.
At the end, Ms. Kimia expressed her gratitude to the National Organization for Protection and Survival and the Global Women's Organization for their support and called for more opportunities to be provided for her fellow women.
